1. Regular items
- The open requirements, pending actions, status of long open bug reports, as well as physics and computing performance monitoring were reviewed.
- Hadronic physics performance:
- The proposition to experiments for Birks parameter tuning and validation still require following up. It is suspected that the value used is not adapted to the detailed simulation.
- Computing performance:
- An ~8% degradation is observed on version 10.5 and is understood as improvements in physics, i.e. BERT-FTF transition region and pi absorption, which generates more secondaries.
- To better reference and monitor physics CPU performance across releases, it was decided to add a test without magnetic field in simplified calorimeter and an other one with a realistic setup and realistic non-uniform field.
2. 2020 Collaboration processes
- The 2020 Collaboration census was reported.
- Elections of the working group coordinators and other representatives will be conducted soon, and should be concluded by the end of February.
3. 2020 work plan and shaping of next release (10.7 or 11.0)
- The 2020 work plan should be completed by early March for
publication
- A Technical Forum dedicated to this work plan discussion will be scheduled in late March.
- Identifying and reviewing status and planning of the major development items that should motivate the decision for moving to a major release (11.0) has to be conducted: coordinators are invited to list all those items so that progress can be regularly reviewed in the coming SB meetings.
4. 10.6.p01 release
- All merge requests are staged and under test.
- The patch will be released shortly.
